Conference: The Long-Run Outlook for Interest Rates
The Council for Return Expectations and the Pension Research Centre (PeRCent) are proud to announce the conference:
The Long-Run Outlook for Interest Rates
Interest rates are low in a historical perspective, even if rates have increased somewhat recently. But what will happen from here? Will rates remain low, because of continued savings pressures and expansionary monetary policies, or will rates increase because global demographics change and rates normalize? This one-day conference will present recent academic research and discuss implications of low interest rates for pension funds and fiscal policies. Focus will be on the long run, i.e. what might happen to rates over the coming decades. Presentations and panel talks will be given by international academics and practitioners. Chairman of the Board of Governors at the Danish Central Bank,聽Lars Rohde, will give the opening remarks. Keynote speakers will be聽Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas聽from UC Berkeley and聽Alan M. Taylor from UC Davis.
The conference is a joint initiative between PeRCent, the Council for Return Expectations, and the Danish pension and banking industry (Insurance & Pension Denmark and Finance Denmark).聽 The conference is organized by Professor Jesper Rangvid from Copenhagen Business School and Professor Torben M. Andersen from University of Aarhus.
The conference will take place on聽September 1, 2021, 9-18 at Scandic K酶dbyen, Copenhagen.
