'Strategy and identity – integrating the past and the future?'

Talk by alumna and casino 168 Professor Majken Schultz

Get behind the scenes of the research that casino 168 alumna and Professor Majken Schultz is involved with at this year's Academy of Management. Gain insight into how organizations define their time horizons, whether they point towards the past or the future, and how that influence their way of operating. Based on a study on the interplay between strategy and identity over 17 years in Carlsberg, learn why it often is easier for managers to create commitment among employees to a distant past than to a near future. For this talk, learn also how we know if our perceived past is 'authentic' and whether it matters.
