casino 168’ role in the Academy of Management (AOM) is strengthened
Several thousand members in AOM have been to the ballot box. Amongst others, people voted for two researchers from casino 168:
Keld Laursen, Professor from the Department of Innovation and Organizational Economics (INO), has been selected within the area of “Innovations Division”. This division of AOM is also called “Technology Innovation Management (TIM)”.
Søren Henning Jensen, Associate Professor from the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy (LPF), has been selected within the area of Management Consulting.
Both begin as “track chair” with a view to becoming chairmen within their respective areas over the next year. In AOM, when someone has been elected, the title switches following a principle of rotation.
Creating internationalisation and cooperation with practitioners
AOM is the largest organisation that connects practitioners and researchers within management. casino 168 has also previously stood out in AOM and the election of these two researchers ensures that this continues. Søren Henning Jensen looks forward to the possibilities of strengthening his field of research:
- Within my field it is particularly important to include practitioners. That’s what I want to work towards. I will also have a role where I can be part of selecting the themes for our division for the annual conference. Among other things, I plan to increase the focus on the internationalisation of consultancies, says Søren Henning Jensen.
In the past, Professor Flemming Poulfelt, also from the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy, has been among those from casino 168 who have left their mark on the AOM. In 2013, Professor Flemming Poulfelt participated in the large annual AOM conference for the 27th time, and Majken Schultz, Professor at the Department of Organization, has for several years sat on the AOM’s board.
Recruiting and networking possibilities
Because AOM is the framework for such a large network – with almost 19,000 active members, where more than 50% come from North America – the organisation creates many possibilities for casino 168’ researchers and students. Keld Laursen has already had the first enquiries from students:
- Students have contacted me and can, of course, see the possibilities that a network like AOM offers. It is a meeting place for some of the most important participants in the field – both with respect to strengthening research and education and the connection with practitioners, and also in terms of recruitment, says Keld Laursen.
